Our 12 days cycling of the country was a lot about easy rolling hills, great roads and simple and friendly country folks.

111 viewsJoana at Cerro Cora national park entrance.
A small but very pleasant historical park, 40 km west of the Brazilian border.
It was here where the final battle of the triple alliance war took place. The war was a trully demographic disaster. The country population went from 1.5 million before the war to just 221.000 after it, of which only 22.000 were man.

78 viewsCycling deeper inside Cerro Cora NP. The Atlantic jungle that makes up the vegetation of the park used to stretch all the way to the Brazilian coast. Now is only found in very small pockets on the east part of the country.
