In In El Salvador at the end of civil war.
A four month trip using local transport and hitchhiking. A week trekking in the “Mosquita” region, Honduras.

A three month trip through Thailand Vietnam and Laos.
Also a ten days trek through the golden triangle from the Chinese border to the Myanmar border on my own.
In Vientiane - Laos, I did volunteer work as an English teacher in a Buddhist monastery.
Portugal to Egypt	July 1999 -
	March 2000
From Leiria (my home town) to the pyramids of Egypt.
Travelled the whole way by bicycle (except the ferry crossing from Italy to Greece) and spent 80% of the time camping wild alone.
Journeyed 12,000 Kilometres in 8 months through Spain, France, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Israel and Egypt.

A five month trip on a Royal Enfield “Bullet” (350cc).
I drove more then 10,000 Kilometres from Kashmir in the Himalayas to Kerala in the south. The trip was unfortunately interrupted because the motorcycle was stolen.

’Himalayas trails 2003’. I was a co-organizer and guide on the first Portuguese expedition to the highest motorable road in the world, in Kashmir.
550 Kilometres mountain biking (max altitude - 5602 meters) and 120 Kilometres trekking (max altitude - 5100 meters).

Patagonia	March 2005 until

‘Patagonia trails 2005’. I was co-organizer and guide on the Portuguese expedition to Tierra del Fuego and Patagonia.
450 Kilometres by mountain bike from the Strait of Magellan to Ushuaia (the southernmost city in the world), and 140 Kilometres trekking in the national parks of Torres del Paine and Tierra del Fuego.
